Pamela Picard, Our Firework!
Pamela Picard has a key part of epic secret sauce that created EO59! ♥️
She taught our founder, Carl Pucci how to grow into that role. She advised on the initial teaming of the company, and provided council to our leadership as we developed. She has been a thought partner to all of us globally, sharing many laughs and many difficult transitions! Our biggest cheerleader she was always out and about rocking EO59 swag. It was hard to find anyone she encountered whom she didn’t tell about EO59, and the amazing work we do! Employee development, growth, and strengths alignment was a true passion of hers that she embedded in our DNA!
Pamela was truly happy when she was lost in a tragic car accident visiting our team, her son, and family, in the Northern European country of Estonia. All the stars, and wonders of the sky will never be enough of a measure of how she loved her two boys: Carl, and Christopher and her grandchildren.
Pamela was also the mother of our founder, Carl Pucci. She often would ask if she could tell people that, or if should be a secret, as she worried it could undermine the gravity of our efforts. All of us always insisted that it was perfect to tell people about this mother - son team that was part of our powerhouse.
As a mother she spoke truth to power and there was never a moment she didn’t stand up for the team and the mission. Pamela worked full time as an Human Resources Business Partner at the University of Virginia Health system. She also served as President of the Virginia Chapter of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources, and a Board Member of Blue Ridge Literacy who’s mission is to support the achievement of life goals through literacy tutoring, classes, and citizenship classes.
She was an advocate for Estonia, joining the Baltic lobbying efforts for development and security. Pamela had been a regular with Estonian government delegations, and brought together the Finance Ministry and UVA. She was a connection between the UVA Darden School of Business where she did leadership coaching, and Estonia. Pamela fought hard to ensure everyone knew about Estonia and just how they could engage in building its future!
Pamela dedicated her career to propelling women, and the disadvantaged, further in America and globally. Along with volunteering with animal shelters, and Afghan and Ukrainian refugees, she served in the leadership of national professional development organisations SHRM, and CUPA.
A lifetime explorer, Pamela was a former resident of many states, and was living in Charlottesville, VA. Famously among those who knew her, she spent her childhood on the beaches of Rhode Island. She was at home hiking in the mountains, kayaking out to a lobster pot for dinner, and staring at the stars. She defined the idea of impact motivation.
To honor her memory give an extra pile of kisses to those you love, and never hesitate. She was the one to dance each moment, add all the extra wood to the fire, serve all the best snacks, and love on her family with all her soul. Pamela lived at the fireworks centre, one we are all still in awe of.
Let’s throw on her tunes! Here’s a glass of dry white wine to you Pamela! 🥂
Here’s a song from her Carl.
